Special, which airs every year with the purpose of promoting charity, has already collected 920 tons of food for families in socially vulnerable situations
AlreadyFriday (22), Starting at19h, the founder of the Associação Evangelizar É Preciso, Father Reginaldo Manzotti, presents theSpecial Love Commitment, one of the largest mobilization actions in favor of charity in the country. The Special, which is broadcast live on multiple channels, is held annually with the aim of raising donations to help needy families across Brazil. “It is a great event of solidarity and a response of hope in difficult times, which shows us the strength of charity”, defines Manzotti.
The Obra Evangelizar initiative emerged in 2000, withlives solidarity that gained strength during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, the live broadcast resulted in the collection of more than 260 tons of food, destined for institutions that provide assistance to populations vulnerable to hunger and impoverishment.
In 2023, donations reached people served by 17 institutions in 12 Brazilian states. Among those who benefited from last year’s Special were more than 100 immigrants, who received five tons of donations destined for Cáritas Arquidiocesana de Maringá, in Paraná. Adding to the history of the event, food was delivered to all Brazilian regions. The São Paulo Parish of Tartarugalzinho, in Amapá, distributed 5.5 tons of food to the community in the region. The same amount of food arrived in the city of Cocal, in Piauí.
The collections from all the “solidarity lives” promoted by the Coordination of Social Projects of Obra Evangelizar last year reached more than 340 thousand recipients. Assistance entities from 62 municipalities, in 26 Brazilian states, were included.
Traditionally, Compromiso de Amor is broadcast on the Friday before Palm Sunday and Holy Week. The Special, which lasts around two and a half hours, will be broadcast simultaneously on TV Evangelizar – on open, satellite and subscription TV (SKY), on Rádios Evangelizar FM and AM, in addition to the channels of Evangelize YouTube and Father Manzotti.
