Brazilian actor Lucas Amorim is capturing the hearts of Brazilians and people from various nations, especially One Piece fans, with the Netflix live-action series.
A few weeks ago, fans of the series launched a petition for Lucas to secure the role of Portgas D. Ace, Luffy’s older brother, and the campaign is gaining global momentum.
The production has surpassed other popular series, including Stranger Things and Wednesday (Wandinha), in over ninety countries, solidifying fan excitement. Lucas Amorim, a dedicated franchise fan, shares his passion in videos on social media and revealed that he previously auditioned for the role of Luffy during the casting process for the first season.
His videos went viral and reached influencers and YouTubers worldwide. Gabriela Luci Amorim, the actor’s mother and a series enthusiast herself, expresses her anxiety and hope for her son’s opportunity. “It’s gratifying to see people rooting for Lucas in this role, especially children. Many of them can’t sign the petition due to a lack of email or social media profiles, which are required for signing. Nonetheless, I am extremely happy to see this mobilization in various parts of the world using the #LucasForAce,” she emphasized.
It’s worth noting that collaboration to sign the petition is free, and you need to receive a confirmation email to validate the request.
