Hariany Almeida: The Journey of a Brazilian Digital Influencer in London

Brazilian digital influencer Hariany Almeida, known for her unique style and authentic content, has chosen the vibrant city of London as her new home while continuing to expand her career.

“Deciding to live in London was a choice influenced by several factors. Firstly, I have family here, which made my adaptation much easier and gave me strong emotional support. Moreover, London is a global hub of fashion and trends – perfect for my career as an influencer. I also wanted to improve my English, so moving here was the result of wanting to be close to my family, to study, and to seize the opportunities this city offers,” says Hariany.

Living in London has deeply enriched Hariany’s perspective on fashion, beauty, and trends.
“Living in London has been an amazing experience for my vision of fashion, beauty, and trends. The city is incredibly diverse, with cultural influences from all over the world. That has allowed me to explore styles and trends I wouldn’t have had access to in Brazil. Plus, being so close to major fashion weeks and beauty events gives me a more up-to-date and global view of what’s happening in the fashion world. This has helped me create more diverse and innovative content for my followers,” she explains.

Adapting to British culture hasn’t come without challenges.
“Adapting to British culture hasn’t been easy. One of the biggest challenges was the weather – it’s completely different from Brazil. Also, the way people communicate and the British sense of humour are quite different from what I’m used to. At first, I struggled a bit to understand and express myself properly. That led me to create content about this adjustment process, sharing with my followers the cultural differences and how I’ve been learning to embrace them. My videos and posts now include more about local culture, adaptation tips, and even a bit of British humour,” Hariany shares.

The experience of studying in London has been transformative for the influencer.
“Studying in London has been life-changing. Besides improving my English, the courses I’m taking are giving me a solid foundation in fashion and trends. This has had a direct impact on my identity as an influencer, allowing me to offer more educational and in-depth content. My followers can see that I’m evolving, and that brings more credibility. Plus, studying abroad has made me more mature and confident, which also reflects in the way I communicate and engage with my audience,” she highlights.

Hariany has also noticed significant differences between Brazilian and European audiences.
“Brazilian followers are very warm and engaged, always supporting me and interacting with my content. On the other hand, the European audience – especially the British – tends to be more reserved and critical. However, both audiences value authenticity and quality content. One difference I’ve noticed is that the European audience is more open to new trends and styles, while the Brazilian audience has clearer preferences for certain beauty and fashion standards. Learning to balance these differences has been a challenge, but also a great opportunity for growth,” she observes.

Staying connected to her Brazilian audience remains a top priority.
“Keeping that connection with my Brazilian followers is a priority for me. I do that by sharing content about my life in London, but always with a Brazilian touch. I also post at times that align with Brazil’s time zone and engage regularly on social media. I do live sessions, reply to comments, and even create content specifically for the Brazilian audience – like travel tips for those planning to visit London,” she says.

Education plays a crucial role in Hariany’s life and career at this stage.
“Education is fundamental for me right now. Being in London gave me the chance to study at renowned institutions and learn directly from professionals in the fashion industry. That not only helps me improve my skills but also allows me to bring more value to my audience. I truly believe that ongoing education is essential for any influencer who wants to stay relevant and deliver high-quality content,” she emphasises.

One of the most remarkable experiences Hariany has had in London was attending London Fashion Week.
“Taking part in London Fashion Week was unforgettable. Seeing the trends up close and meeting renowned designers was incredible. I shared that experience with my followers through videos and photos, and many felt inspired to explore more about fashion – some even considering studying or working in the field. That experience showed me the power of sharing meaningful moments and how it can motivate and inspire others,” she recalls.

Hariany believes her journey can inspire other young Brazilian women.
“I truly believe my journey can be a source of inspiration for many young Brazilian women. Showing that it’s possible to follow your dreams, study abroad, and build an international career can encourage others to take that step. I share my experiences, challenges, and achievements to show that, with dedication and courage, it’s possible to reach your goals. I hope my story motivates other women to seek new opportunities and not be afraid of stepping outside Brazil,” she says.

To Brazilian influencers aiming to expand their careers internationally, Hariany offers valuable advice:
“For Brazilian influencers looking to grow internationally, my advice is: learn the local language – speaking the language of the country you want to work in is crucial. It helps you communicate and connect better. Understand the culture – every country has its own cultural nuances, so take the time to research and learn in order to create respectful and relevant content. Be authentic – staying true to your essence is what will make you stand out. Build a network – connect with people in the industry, go to events, collaborate, and create relationships. And finally, be persistent – adapting to a new place can be tough, but persistence is key to success. Don’t give up when faced with challenges,” she advises.

Hariany Almeida continues to inspire and connect with her audience through her unique journey in London, blending education, culture, and fashion into content that crosses borders.
