Migration specialist warns about new “Skilled Worker” visa changes

Ms. Livia Suassuna, a Brazilian lawyer specializing in migration law, will provide you with important information about this journey

The United Kingdom has announced that, starting from April 4, 2024, immigrants interested in applying for the “Skilled Worker” route will need to meet higher salary requirements. “The minimum salary required will increase from £26,200 to £38,700. This means that companies will face the need to pay higher amounts to recruit professionals, which could lead to a significant decrease in vacancies,” analyzes lawyer Ms. Livia Suassuna, a migration law specialist with an office in London.

According to the lawyer, employers and immigrants who wish to avoid these impacts should act quickly and apply for the visa before this new rule comes into effect. However, it is important to note that this increase will not affect individuals who are already on the “Skilled Worker” route!

“It is important to note that this exemption will apply to those who are making new applications, such as changing jobs, extending their stay, or applying for indefinite leave to remain. Additionally, the Health and Care visa route and roles covered by national salary scales, including teachers, will also not be affected by this increase,” concludes Dr. Livia. Still have doubts?
