In Red, White and Royal Blue, Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the first female President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and British Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: stunning beauty, undeniable charisma, international popularity, and a total disdain for each other. Separated by an ocean, their long-standing rivalry hasn’t really been a problem until a disastrous – and very public – fight at a royal event becomes fodder for the tabloids, opening up a potential barrier in the relations between the United States and Great Britain at the worst possible time. Going into damage control mode, their powerful families and respective handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.” But when Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction between them ignites something deeper than they expected.
The cast includes Nicholas Galitzine, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, Uma Thurman, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D. Clarke, Aneesh Sheth, and Juan Castano.
Written and directed by Matthew López, the film is produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, with executive production by author Casey McQuiston, Michael Riley McGrath, Matthew López, and Michael S. Constable.
