This Saturday (7/8), on TV Cultura, the new series “Asas e Histórias” features the Dassault Mirage III, the first fighter jet of the Brazilian Air Force to fly beyond the speed of sound – literally, the jet that took Brazil to the Supersonic Era. The unique episode will air starting at 10:45 am.
The series “Asas e Histórias” portrays the history of aviation from a cultural perspective. Hosted by Cláudio Lucchesi, a journalist with 30 years of experience in the aerospace field and author of History and Aviation books, the program showcases in each episode the main airplanes and helicopters that have significant technological and historical importance in Brazil and the world.
With 26 five-minute episodes, in a disruptive format that combines robust content with agility, “Asas e Histórias” will feature everything from the aircraft designed by Alberto Santos Dumont, such as the pioneering 14-Bis and the graceful Demoiselle, to the fastest and most technologically advanced aircraft of today.
The program is also broadcasted on Sundays, starting at 1 pm.
Next week The most modern of all Airbus aircraft, the A350, will be featured in the episode on the 15th. This passenger jet capable of connecting continents and committed to sustainability will provide insight into the most advanced technology currently available, providing safety to the pilot and crew, as well as comfort to the passengers.
The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, a bomber aircraft created in the early 1950s with the aim of attacking the Soviet Union with nuclear bombs, can be seen on the episode airing on the 22nd. An icon of the Cold War, this aircraft, still in service, is approaching a century of use in the United States, a true record! Over these decades, it has given its name to everything from a women’s hairstyle to a rock band, and even “starred” in one of Stanley Kubrick’s most acclaimed films, “Dr. Strangelove”.
