Jason Mraz, a multiple Grammy-winning artist, has released his eighth album, Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride, marking a return to collaboration with producer Martin Terefe, known for hits such as “I’m Yours” and “Lucky”. The project was preceded by the danceable tracks “I Feel Like Dancing” (a hit on Brazilian radio), “You Might Like It”, and the ballad “Pancakes and Butter”, accompanied by a music video that celebrates love. Together, these singles have already surpassed 20 million streams.
The album release is accompanied by a music video for “Feel Good Too”, directed by Djay Brawner (known for his work with All Time Low and Melanie Martinez), which explores Mraz’s newfound passion for skating and showcases him freely moving around Los Angeles, featuring professional athletes Darion Reyes as the choreographer and Keon Saghari.
Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride suggests a sense of continuity. Its optimistic and inspiring sensibility reflects what it’s like to live in this world. The songs intertwine, encouraging the listener to enjoy the album multiple times, while also incorporating subtle references to Jason’s past and transforming them into something current.
“To me, music is magical because first there’s a void or silence, and then I’m playing an instrument or singing, and all of a sudden, I’m a creator,” reflects Mraz. “A song may come from a dark place, but optimism will always be present. I always want to bring the listener back to the light.”
The new album marks a busy phase for Jason Mraz: on June 28th, he will perform “I Feel Like Dancing” on the TV show Good Morning America, and he will embark on a summer tour across the United States in July, with sold-out dates already confirmed.
